Opalex: Bond Protector with Straightening (10/10) **Best Bond Treatment/Straightening/Light Weight Styling

The No. 6 Bond Smoother & No. 7 Bonding Oil are the real MVPs. My hair was as light as a feather and smooth afterwards and did not feel weighed down even after using a moderate to liberal amount of product. I had one of the smoothest blowouts next to the IGK. Again, my cons are: this stuff is expensive.  Pros: After using the treatment system No. 3-5, I could definitely see a better curl pattern. (I did have a trim since using the IGK system) At the completion of my hair I felt I wanted more oil or sheen but then after unwrapping my hair for day 2 it gave a nice light weight feel and my side-sweep-bang looked amazing and not weighed down.

Day 3

I really like the light airy feeling my hair has with this line. I did decide to add some LIGHT smoothing oil on day 3.

Systems I am considering next:

Mizani Press Agent System w/Leave in Miracle Milk

Chi Silk System

Fantasia Frizz Ease Serum (stand alone with heat protectant)

Carol's Daughter: Goddess Strength on 4A hair (9/10)

So I believe Sarah has 4A hair. We decided to use this system for a half up and half down look. I shampooed and conditioned then oiled her scalp lightly. I then applied leave-in all over and used a Detangling brush. I pulled the front half into a ponytail with the balm and ORS edge gel. (Balm will only smooth dry edges). I then added defining cream to the back half and ponytail while wet using a denman like brush. At night the back half were put into 4 braids and the ponytail into 3 braids after lightly misting with water. Then a silk cap at night. The next day I lightly sprayed the braids with water and then rubbed light oil on my hands. After taking each braid loose I misted her hair with water if needed and applied a dime sized amount of curl defining cream using the praying method. I did this to all 7 braids and pulled hair apart as needed. I DID NOT use a comb. Once dry the hair had a nice touchable hold.

Next Day

Day 3

I gave 9/10 only because the balm did not have a strong enough hold for her edges.

IGK Good Behavior: Sleek Squad Straightening & Anti Frizz (9/10) **Best Anti-Frizz

IGK had a sale so I bought almost the entire Good Behavior set during a black Friday event. I saw a you-tube video of this product used on ethnic hair and was amazed. The Spirulina Protein Smoothing Blowout Balm and Spray along with the Crybaby Supreme Seal Anti-Frizz Serum are the real MVPs. My hair was as light as a feather and smooth afterwards and did not feel weighed down even after using a moderate to liberal amount of product. I had the smoothest blowout using the Blowout Balm. Again, my cons are: having to use so many expensive products and my hair feeling way more smoother than it looked(maybe my hair needed more sheen, I find myself re-applying the serum daily). I still going to work with this system because I absolutely LOVE the way my hair FEELS.

The Doux: Press Play (Thermal Straightening System 3 weeks) 9/10 **Best Silk and Smoothing

The Doux site had a sale so I bought the entire Press Play Thermal set including the foam wrap which is not pictured. The first time I tried the system I was following what one of their models did in a video. She used the Doux drops at the end AFTER flat ironing. Not sure what temp she used but I used 419 the first time and my hair was very frizzy after a few minutes. I changed the order a little the second time around to give it another try and increased the temp to 455 degrees. The Doux Drops is the real MVP. My hair was nice and smooth afterwards and did not feel weighed down even after using a liberal amount of product. My only con is the fact that you have to use so many products not counting the bonding shampoo or conditioner and they are expensive.

Products Used (in Order)

1) Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo (I wanted all the oils and buildup out of my hair)

2) Press Rewind Shampoo

3) Fast Forward Conditioner

4) Silent Treatment(apply liberal amount and comb through)

6) Blow dry hair with comb or brush until smooth(Infinitipro by Conair 3-in-1 styling Hair Dryer, 1875W with comb attachment)

7) OPP Spray(apply liberal amount and comb through)

8) Doux Drops(apply liberal amount and comb through, be sure to get the ends well)

9) Flat Iron (450)

*used BabylissPro Nano Titanium1 Vented Ionic Flat Iron

Upkeep: Wrap hair with doobie wrap and wear silk cap at night for bedtime

Day 1:

Doobie Wrap for bedtime. (you can tie a SILK scarf, turban or adjustable cap over the top of the doobie wrap, depends on how crazy you sleep) I tried to tie a silk scarf around my head but it gave me a headache so I use an adjustable silk turban instead. (it took two wears for the doobie wrap to loosen it up around my head, so no headache or tightness now). I would like this line to additionally have some type of holding finishing spray

I also did my oldest daughter's hair.

The Doux: Pop Rock & Fresh To Def(5/10)

So I tried the WashNGo styling products from The Doux. I was skeptical because the Kahlani glaze by Mielle is thick and leaves my hair greasy. This product was actually watery when it came out so I was thinking it wouldn't hold well. It had a lot of hold! My hair was super crunchy though. I used the sweater method to scrunch the crunch on day 1 and it was nice and soft after. The next 2 days that followed I only applied water and the fresh to def spray to refresh my hair. My hair was so crunchy and I could not scrunch out the crunch. Additionally it does not lay down my edges so I would need to use an additional product. I will be passing this along to my sister to see how it works on her hair. This was not the product for me. I want definition, moisture, light volume with a soft touchable hold. I really want to try their Bonita Bubble Balm which is supposed to do all of that. Here are some pics below. I believe on the second or 3rd day I pulled it back into a half up do. I couldn't wait to wash my hair.

The Doux: Honey Dip Honey Butter Gel (6/10) - my hair type

So I have really been trying to find the perfect cream gel. This butter gel felt like a custard/glaze almost. It's thick and a little goes a long way. I have seen where most people pair it with a mousse but I wanted to use it alone for the first time. The slip was OK. I have learned to stay away from custard and glazes as they are usually too heavy or greasy for my hair type. I am really trying to give this product a chance but I'm afraid my hair may be greasy tomorrow.  When my hair was almost dry I noticed some frizz and redid some small spots. Definitely thinking it may need to be paired with a mousse but then again it already feels super moisturing. It's like if I put too much product it could be greasy but if I don't put enough it could be frizzy. Let's see what next day hair looks like.

So exactly what I thought...actually happened. The back was a lil frizzy this am so I redid the back with water and more product. Bad choice....now my hair is defined but crunchy.😭 I will say once the product dries it is touchable. You don't feel that icky custard on the surface of the hair. I feel like this could be a great product for someone with a different hair texture. I am thinking maybe my sister or daughters hair.

This is definitely some type of custard/glaze. I have tried gel/creams before but this has a completely different texture from others that I have tried. I washed it out today(day 2). Too heavy on my hair based on the type of definition and hold I want. Touching my hair itself feels a little greasy but not enough to make me wash my hands after but it's there. I pretty gave an entire bottle to my 18 year. I will repost if it works well on her hair.

Pardon My FRO: Cream & Mousse 6/10 (3 Days)

I received this product from my younger sister who said it did not work for her hair. She said her hair was not soft after using the product but dry. Most things that dont work for her high porosity 3C hair does work for my low to medium porosity hair. The cream has a nice Keylime smell. I didn't lik the smell of the Mousse. I applied in sections. The cream had good slip and then I applied the Mousse directly on top using my styling brush.

Day 2: Refreshed with water and used some cream to refresh a few spots. Hair is still very soft with definition.

Day 3: My hair is ok. The back is kind of clumped together. This would be my last day wearing down.

BTZ Noodle Head Leave-in & Curling Creme(3 days) 7/10

First thoughts putting this in my hair, "What is this artificial smell they are trying to replicate?" 🤢 Luckily that went way quickly. Did a great job defining my Curls!  Only using the leave-in and curling creme and NO GEL. Take down was easy. I used a small amount of product with water to smooth my edges. Nice cast after drying but not too bad. I have not felt the need to break the cast or add oil to my hair. I'm currently on day 3 and not having any scalp issues.

Aussie: Miracle Curls Mousse & Instant Volume Gel(3 Days) 6/10

So I saw this Facebook Reel and the women sponsored by Aussie used ALL these products. 🥴 Anyways her final result was beautiful. I think she had more of a 3a/3b texture. I used everything in the same order that she did from left to right 😐. At the end I didn't really have a cast to break. I just rubbed a light amount of oil over the canopy of my hair. My hair was probably 90% dry when I put it up in a pineapple for the night. I forgot to take a before picture but I do have pineapple pictures. My hair is soft,  moisturized, defined and shiny. I can't wait to see day 2.

Day 2 and after: I sprayed with water and had to refresh my edges with the instant volume gel. I scrunched the crunch with the Miracle Curls Gel which left my hair feeling softer.

I Used the Curls Miracle oil to smooth out any crunch. For the price, the product did fine. This could definitely be an emergency stash if I take a flight or go out of town and forget or don't bring hair products.  Day 4 I probably could have wore it down again with some fresh up but I had to clean so I smoothed back into a ponytail with Aussie instant volume gel and instant freeze spray.
