Aussie: Miracle Curls Mousse & Instant Volume Gel

So I saw this Facebook Reel and the women sponsored by Aussie used ALL these products. 🥴 Anyways her final result was beautiful. I think she had more of a 3a/3b texture. I used everything in the same order that she did from left to right 😐. At the end I didn't really have a cast to break. I just rubbed a light amount of oil over the canopy of my hair. My hair was probably 90% dry when I put it up in a pineapple for the night. I forgot to take a before picture but I do have pineapple pictures. My hair is soft,  moisturized, defined and shiny. I can't wait to see day 2.

4U Strong Hold Gel & Aussie Sprunch

So what originally started out as me just using Aussie Sprunch Mousse and Spray went south FAST. I used the rest of the Mielle Oats and Honey leave-in conditioner. Then the sprunch Mousse followed by the Sprunch Spray. I saw that my hair wasn't getting any definition and it was actually poofy. It wasn't feeling hard or sticky either. See I was hoping for a feather light, defined and airy style from that Sprunch. Not for my hair type! Then I went through and started raking the Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz Serum through my hair to see if that would help with Frizz and definition. It helped with frizz a little. The serum actually works well when used with a styling cream. Finally, I became desperate because I couldn't take this frizz ball that was forming on my head though soft. Here was the chance to try that 4U Strong Hold Gel. I went back and layered my hair with that. I know this gel is good for slicking back the hair and edges but I have never tried it as a wash and go. I hate the STICKY feel of the 4U products right after application before it dries. I would rather have a greasy feel before my hair dries if that makes any sense. I wash my hands after either way and always go for the touchable style. If a product feels sticky or greasy after it dries I will not use it again. I always go for a touchable finish with any product.

Day 3: Take down with just water. I'm pretty sure just the gel is doing most of the work. Hair kept it's cast. Definitely on days 2 and 3 I see some spots in the back that need some serious attention but I'm not going anywhere so I wont be using extra product.  I also dont care for the smell of the 4U gel. My hair feels so crunchy maybe I didn't use enough moisturizer underneath.

Camille Rose Twists 10/10

I recently used Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter and Spiked Honey Mousse to twist both of my daughters hair. They each picked a style they wanted. The hair came out beautiful. We are on day 3 and everything still looks great and is moisturized.

The Doux: Mousse Def 10/10

I tried this mousse for the first time today. I'm not a mousse person but the reviews for this are so great I just had to try. I used a small amount of Mielle's Oats & Honey leave-in conditioner prior. Then I used the Mousse Def texture foam. It does everything it says detangles, conditions, defines and shines. It clumped my curls very nicely and I let it air dry. I also feel that this mousse helped me retain length. It does have a nice cast for hold. I'm nervous about day 2 hair because I have bad luck with mousses and normally it doesn't last more than 2 days before the product feels icky, stiff and/or dried out.

Day 2: The take down was awesome! Used water and mousse to touch up a few spots. Took care of my edges in the front. I have high hopes this could last 3 or 4 days!

Day 3: Take down was good. My hair wasn't stiff or super dry. I noticed a lack in definition so I used extra water and mousse to refresh. I even used the defining brush and brushed through my hair for more definition. I feel like after the reapplication today that my hair could last more days.

Day 5: The take down was surprisingly good considering that I keep my hair up all day yesterday with no added moisture. Of course I used water and mousse along with my definition brush to refresh. Love this product!

Day 6: I pulled my half of my hair up. Used some Big Poppa Gel to lay down my edges and just water for my hair in the back. No extra product for definition. Love this product!

The Doux: Big Poppa 10/10

So I tried the DOUX brand, their Big Poppa Gel and leave- in/refresher spray. The consistency of the gel was good. Once dried it gave my hair definition, shine, volume and light moisture. I could probably use another leave-in for better moisture.

This is my nighttime pineapple.  I just spray my hair with water before I pull my hair up and only loop it once. Then silk cap over.
Day 2: The take down was easy just refreshed with water and Doux Refresher.

Day 3: There is a little more volume. For the take down, I had to touch up a few spots in the back with gel and water. Definitely a product I will be buying more of and I can say that maybe I should have used a little more gel with my first application. But again I plan to use a leave-in with more moisture as well. The Doux Big Poppa Gel is a keeper.

Not Your Mother's: Curl Talk 7/10

Curl Talk: So I tried Not Your Mother's Curl Talk Bonding Building Shampoo, Conditioner and Curl Cream. The shampoo was moisturizing and the conditioner had ok slip but was also moisturizing. I did use Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner before applying the Curl Talk Cream. So far I have retained length, moisture, definition and some hold. What intrigues me about this line is the Rice Curl Complex that is used. Rice water/milk does really well on my hair so I was super excited to try plus it had great reviews.

Day 2: I sprayed my pineapple with water then took it down and sprayed with some more water. I then added product on some spots that seemed frizzy or undefined. Again, this product elongates the hair like crazy so some strands seemed almost straight until I used the brush to define again. My hair does feel soft and moisturized. I have a very small cast on some strands but they are welcome since they provide a light hold. I did have to do more work then what I normally have to do for my Mielle products on day 2. Let's see what day 3 brings.

Day 3: First off I should have taken a picture earlier this morning because it looked much better. Used water and curl cream to refresh. Hair has small cast but still soft. Doesn't feel super moisturized but not dry either. I may go over it with oil today. This pictures below are from after coming from outside and heavily sweating due to the crazy Florida heat. So the ends of my hair touched my sweaty shoulders and neck then frizzed up a little.

4U by Tia Mowry (Moisturizing Medium Hold) 4/10

So I did diffuse my hair because I didn't want really wet hair going to bed. My hair feels very soft and curls are defined. Will be doing pineapple tonight and seeing how it turns out in the morning.

Day 2: So for day 2 I used the Curl Refresher Spray, water, leave-in and curl defining gel. Yes everything....my hair was soft but not defined the way I like it. No gel reactivation that I normally get when I spray with water...absolutely no hold actually. I'm starting to think I will need the strong hold gel combo to get the results I want. Let's see if this lasts to day 3.

Day 3: So this morning...I just used water because I was already getting annoyed with my hair trying to get matted. The back of my head just looks bad. 🤦🏻‍♀️ This gel reminds me of the feeling my hair had when I was using the curly girl method and leaving regular conditioners in my hair as moisture and styler. Obviously I stopped doing that because I didn't like the feeling of my hair texture or lack of definition. So I dont like to waste my money. I will use these products when I do pull back ponytails or buns but they will get used one way or the other.
